If you are young, you are not necessarily safer health-wise. Especially in the workplace. A new WorkSafe Victoria study in Australia’s Victoria found that 49 young people aged between 15-24 were injured every week in 2015/16. Young workers suffered the most in construction, retail, manufacturing and hospitality. Now a social media campaign has been launched to create more awareness.
- Young workers are more vulnerable to work place injuries.
- Young workers often don’t think about life-long stress and damages to their body by doing jobs inappropriately.
- More is being done to educate younger workers by providing information to them and to employers hiring young workers.
